The whole family at Granddads, November 1998.For those people who come here regularly, I got a bit behind in updating it. Since I'm now such a busy baby, I no longer have time with feeding, sleeping, playing, and all that, to do my diary every day. So now I'm just going to do an updates page, which will have the latest photos, changes in my life, and stuff that I'm up to. So while I'm going to keep all the old material on here, all new material won't go into the diary, but instead into these updates pages - Alexander.

Alexander

Daddy and I were in the paper, 5th December 1998.Hi, my name is Alexander Tristan McMillan and my Mummy is Eliza McMillan and my Daddy is Kyle Matthews. I was born 7:25pm, Tuesday 31st of March. I weighed 7 lb, 15 oz (3.2 kg) at birth, and I was 56cm long.

Name

Alexander is a family name on Mummy's side. In her family the middle names of all children are either Alexander, or Alexandra. It's also Daddy's Grandfather's middle name. Originally it was going to be my middle name, but Mummy and Daddy couldn't think of anything better, and so it got "promoted" to my first name.

Tristan is a name Daddy liked, and he used to have a good friend Tristan while in high school.

McMillan is Mummy's surname, they chose just one name because both sounded a bit silly.

People

I love my Mummy! (November 1998)I have four great grandmothers, a great grandfather, two granddads, two grandmothers, an auntie and an uncle, and Mummy and Daddy. I have so many cousins it's not funny. No first cousins though, as I'm the first of a new generation on both sides of the family. Lots of them I haven't met, but I figure they'll all come see me sooner or later. You can see some of my family, and learn a bit about them on my people page.

More

I used to keep a diary, so you can see how my life went for the first few months. There's more photos on there too. It's so big, that I had to split it up, here's the older stuff:

Daddy was nice enough to take photos of me while I was having a bath. So I've taken the opportunity to expose this cruel form of baby torture to the world on my bath page.

There will be more stuff on here as we get to it. Coming up: Alex's tips for looking after a newborn.

Statistics

I got to meet Santa! I hope he's going to give me lots of pressies (December 1998)Mummy and Daddy said that some people were sending me stuff that didn't fit me, so I'm putting my measurements up here in the hope that people will send stuff that is the right size.

I'm a big tall baby, over 70 cm long, and over 9 kg in weight. My had is also pretty big, about 50 cm around. Contrary to popular opinion, I'm not a chimpanzee, and I don't have really long arms.

Mummy and Daddy said to tell everyone that I've got lots of clothes that fit me at the moment, but I need stuff for when I'm a bit older, so look in the one year old section.

Baby Talk

Daddy got a new microphone and recorded me making some noises! So feel free to download them. They're all in .wav format (check out tucows for players for your computer if you don't have them).

I don't have my own email address at the moment, but Daddy lets me use his. So you can contact me on jits@ihug.co.nz.
